If you are thinking of a simple dessert which is made in minutes for a party or get together or as a edible gift or want to cook along with kids, this is the one which comes to my mind. This is easy to make, fancy looking and delicious to eat.
I love the chocolaty crust and the sweet and sour strawberry inside. When taken a bite the chocolaty crust crunches and just melts in mouth and then the juicy strawberries, hmmm that just mouth watering.
This whole week is school break and my little "IZ" was getting bored at home and wanted to do some exiting thing, so we both made these beautiful strawberries, had a great time doing this. I know she is just 5 but she is very much in to cooking. So this is one of the recipe which my IZ loves to do and get messy and licking. :)
Level: Easy
Prep time: 20 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
IngredientsCooking time: 10 mins
Strawberries - 400gm (approx 12-15 strawberries)
Cooking chocolate bar/chips - 150 gm (milk or dark chocolate)
White chocolate - 50gm (optional for drizzle)
Directions
- Clean the strawberries and dry them thoroughly.
- Take a microwave safe bowl and melt the milk chocolate, stir occasionally until chocolate is smooth. You can also melt the chocolate using double boiler.
- Hold the berries by the stem, dip each one in melted chocolate and place it on baking sheet.
- Melt the white chocolate and pour it in zip lock bag and snip off the edge and drizzle on the strawberries and chill in refrigerator until hardened.
Enjoy doing with kids. And get creative in decorating the strawberries using nut, coconut flakes and sprinkles.
Tips:
- Always make sure that strawberries are completely dry. Use cloth to dry them. If your strawberries are wet then the chocolate will not stick .
- If you don't have ziplock bag you can just dip the fork in white chocolate and drizzle on it.
- Always use high quality cooking chocolate for this :) .
