Oats Dosa | No rice No feremtation Instant Dosa Recipe | Healthy Breakfast recipe | Flavour Diary



Hi friends, today's recipe is quick easy and instant healthy breakfast with Oats. The best part of this recipe is there is no rice or  needs no fermentation.This is one go to recipe for a lazy day. This recipe makes 6-8 dosa's pancakes and this can be enjoyed with chutney or podi or sambar.

Level: Easy
Makes: 6+ Dosa
1 cup: 250ml
1 tablespoon(TBS): 15ml
1 teaspoon(tsp): 5 ml

Ingredients

Quick Oats -1 cup
Semolina (suji) - 1/2
Yogurt: 3/4 cup
Ginger : 2 inch
Green Chillies: 2 
Onion: 1/4 finely chopped 
Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
coriander: 3 TBSP finely chopped
Water as required
Salt to taste
 Oil  for drizzling on dosa


Directions

In a blender add oats, semolina and blend to fine powder.
Then add ginger, green chillies, yogurt ,salt, cumin and little water and blend it to smooth paste.
Add little water to the blender and clean it and pour it in dosa batter.
Now add onion, coriander and mix well and keep it aside for 10mins.
After 10 mins, add water (optional) for dosa batter consistency
Heat the pan and add a ladle full of batter and then spread as pancake. Cook on both sides until golden brown and take it out. 
Serve hot with chutney or sambar.

How to make easy Idli recipe using Idli Rava | FlavourDiary | Healthy South Indian Breakfast


Idli recipe using Idli Rava

Hi Friends, today's recipe is one of the famous South Indian breakfast called Idli. Idli's are soft and spongy round shaped steamed rice-lentil cakes , usually served along with Sambar and Peanut Chutney or coconut chutney. Idli's are traditional , healthy breakfast and common in every south indian household.
Idli can be prepared using different types of lentils(Urad dal, Moongdal ...) , millets (Jowar Idli) and with Rice Rava (aka Idli Rava or Cream of Rice). Today's recipe uses Rice Rava instead of Plain Rice to give it a grainier. Rice Rava Idli has grainy texture compared to the Idli made with rice. Batter needs to be fermented to make it soft and spongy.

Idli Using Idli Rava

1 cup:250 ml
1 tablespoon: 15ml
1 tsp:5ml

Ingredients

Urad Dal: 1 cup
Idli Rava: 2 cups
Salt to taste
Baking Soda: 1/8tsp (A pinch)
Water for batter consistency


Directions

Wash and Soak Urad Dal for 4 hours.
Add Sufficient water to Idli rava and keep aside for 10 mins.
After 4 hrs grind urad dal to fine paste and add it to soaked Idli rava.
Mix well and let it ferment overnight.
Next day add salt to taste, baking soda and water to adjusting to idli batter consistency and mix well.
Grease the oil on Idli plates and then pour the batter in the plates.
Prepare the steamer and place the plates in the steamer and cook for 10-12 mins on medium flame. Turn off the stove and let it rest for another 5 mins and then take the plates off and remove the Idli's.
Your Idli rava Idli's are ready and serve hot with Chutney of your choice and sambar.

Moongdal Vada | Easy Breakfast Snack recipe | FlavourDiary

Moongdal Vada recipe

Today's Hi friends, today's recipe is delicious and easy vada made with moong dal.There are many variations of vada are made in south India, and this vada is one among them. This vada needs no fermentation and very easy to make too. 
There are various vada's like Lobia vada, Medhu vada , bread vada, mix dal vada and many more. These vada's are quite common in breakfast or snack in evening. Even these are best in lunchboxes too.

Level: Easy
Serves: 3-4
1 cup: 250ml
1 tablespoon(TBS): 15ml
1 teaspoon(tsp): 5 ml

Ingredients

Moongdal - 1 cups
Ginger - 2 inch chunks
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 3-4 cut (to taste)
Salt - 1 tsp (to taste)
Baking Soda - a pinch
Water - 1/4 cup
Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
Coriander - 1/4 (fresh or frozen) 
Onion - 1 medium (finely chopped)
Curry leaves - 1 spring (cut)
Oil for frying

Directions

Wash and soak moong dal for 3-4 hrs.
Drain the water from moongdal.
In a blender add soaked drained moongdal , ginger, cumin seeds, Green Chillies, salt, baking soda, water and blend to smooth paste. 
Take batter in a bowl and then add rice flour, coriander, Onion, curry leaves and mix well .
The batter should be dropping consistency. 
Heat oil and once oil is hot add batter in desired size in to the oil and cook for medium flame all the time and flip and flip and fry until light golden colour. 
Transfer on to the kitchen towel and serve hot with ketchup or chutney.

Peanut Tomato Chutney Recipe | Flavour Diary | Idli Dosa Chutney recipe




Chutney is very common in south Indian household and mainly served at breakfast time. South Indians makes many varieties and variations in chutneys. For today its Peanut Tomato Chutney recipe. 
Peanut Tomato Chutney is easy to make recipe with commonly used ingredients at home. This chutney tastes great  with or without tadka to it.

Level: Easy
Serves: 2-3


1 teaspoon(tsp): 5 ml
1 tablespoon(TBSP): 15ml
1 cup: 250ml

Ingredients

Oil: 1 tablespoon
Peanuts: 1/2 cup
Tomatoes: 2 medium
Tamarind: 1 inch
Green Chillies: 2 
Salt to taste
Water: 1/4 cup as desired consistency
Mint: 5 -8 leaves (optional)



Tadka:
Oil,
Mustard Seeds: 1/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds: 1/2 tsp
Bengal Gram: 1/2 tsp
Dry chilli: 1
Curry Leaves



Directions

In a pan add Peanuts, Oil and fry until the peanuts crack and change its colour.
Add Green Chillies, Tamarind, tomatoes and fry until tomatoes turn mushy.
Add mint(optional) and  cook for 30secs more and keep aside to cool down completly.
Transfer mixture to the blender and add desired water,salt to taste and blend it to smooth paste.


Tadka:
In a small pan add 2 TBSP of oil. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds, when seeds starts to crack, add Cumin seeds, chana dal, curry leaves, Dry red chilli. Fry until chana dal change colour and pour it on chutney and mix well.
